Circles respects copyright and responds to notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512). If you believe content on Circles infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to enforce, use the form below. Everything it asks for is required by §512(c)(3).

You can also send a written notice containing the same information to the designated agent by email.

Before you file

  • We can act only on content hosted on Circles, identified by its link (for example a post or profile URL).
  • Private circles and messages are end-to-end encrypted: we can't see their contents. We can still act on the specific post or account you identify, and the uploader may be identified from the link.
  • We may share your notice, including your name and contact details, with the person who posted the content so they can respond.
  • Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under §512(f).
  • The uploader may file a counter-notice. If they do, the content may be restored in 10–14 business days unless you tell us you've filed a court action.
  • Accounts with three active copyright strikes within a year are terminated under our repeat-infringer policy.
